We had a nice introduction to copyright and the importance of teaching our students to draw their own pictures, take their own photos, or use sites that are copyright free. Here is a list of some places to get resources for putting on your blog or wiki:

I've just passed on the warning about "NO Google images without direct permission from the image- owner to all my staff. I've been trying out the sites on this royalty-free list and here's what I found...
Freeimages.com does not seem to be at all free. They ask for subscription $$ up front.
Freestockphotos.com has a very limited range (some beautiful skies...)
Not sure why we are allowed to use Microsoft - is it because the TDSB has a license? Do elementary kids who only have Star Office have the right to use Microsoft images?
Is Canadian Clipart on the elementary image, and if not, why?
What about Creative Commons? It seems like a generous sort of idea. Has anybody used it?
